Lauren Winfield played the “innings of her life” as Loughborough University won the BUCS Cricket Women’s Championship for the ninth time in the last 10 years.
The opener, who was playing with a broken finger, hit a magnificent 104 to help Loughborough clinch a dramatic win over Durham off the penultimate ball in a match reduced to 35 overs because of bad weather at the Lord’s nursery ground last Friday.

I pursued my Master's in Sport Management from Loughborough University in the U.K. in 2010-11. I had always been a sport enthusiast, and my ambition to pursue a career in sport led me to Loughborough, where I hoped I would gain the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the industry. |

At the UK Coaching Awards, the special lifetime achievement award was presented in honour of the former England fast bowler Graham Dilley, who died in October. The presentation was made to Dilley's son, Chris Pennell, in recognition of Dilley's work as a bowling coach with Surrey, Scotland and England, and most recently as head coach of Loughborough University.
